Why brown reads as quality, not as a giveaway

Brown is a colour buyers reach for when they want a bag to look considered, not seasonal. It sits closer to packaging and product than to a marketing giveaway, which is exactly why it works for shops selling something people already handle with care.

Two real shades, two different jobs

Caramel Brown is lighter and warmer, closer to raw linen or unbleached paper. Chocolate Brown is deep and near black in low light. Both are 140 g/m² cotton on our Classic long-handle tote. If you need a lower unit cost at higher volume, the Budget line carries a single mid-tone Brown at 140 g/m² and 200 g/m².

Where brown sells itself

Coffee roasters and specialty cafés use it because it matches the beans on the shelf, not just the branding. Plant shops, florists and garden centres use it for the same reason kraft plant labels work: it reads as natural, not printed-on. Chocolatiers, confectioners and specialty food shops use it because cocoa-toned packaging already sells the product before anyone opens it. Farm shops and delis reach for it alongside jute for a genuinely rustic, non-plastic shelf. Sustainable and eco-conscious brands use undyed or naturally-toned bags because a bright colour can read as more processed than the product inside.

Print in white, cream or gold, not black

A dark logo tends to disappear into brown cotton. White and cream screen print hold contrast cleanly, and metallic gold looks intentional rather than showy at this weight. Ask for a digital proof before you commit to a colour if you are unsure how your logo will sit.

A genuinely small range, on purpose
